In Barberton, we are lucky to have some of the best food in the area. Pizza, chicken, subs, hamburgers, ice cream; we truly have some of the best! We have many places in Barberton that everyone knows about and loves. Angie’s, Green Diamond Grille, and Belgrade Gardens are just some examples. In this article however, I wanted to focus on some of the places that I love but don’t hear talked about as much. Some of the hidden gems, you could say!

Dave’s Diner

Dave’s is located at 937 Wooster Road W. and their hours are 7:30-1:30 Tuesday through Friday, 7:00- 1:00 on Saturday, and 8:00- 1:00 on Sunday. They serve a variety of different dishes including breakfast, omelets, sandwiches, salads, and dinners including fish, steak, and polish sausage. My personal favorite menu item is the Cherry Blossom Burger, which has cheese, BBQ sauce, and onion rings. The service is very good, the food is delicious, and the prices are very affordable. I would definitely recommend giving them a try!

Preto’s Breakfast and Burgers

Preto’s Breakfast and Burgers is located at 1494 W Waterloo Rd and their hours are 6:00- 2:30 Monday through Saturday, and 7:00- 1:00 on Sunday. While very close to the Akron border, it is in fact located in Barberton! As stated in their name, their specialty is breakfast and burgers. They serve numerous breakfast dishes and sandwiches, as well as chicken and fish. My personal favorite menu item is the MVP Burger. It has cheese, lettuce, onions, and their special sauce. Again, delicious food, very good service, and very affordable prices!

The Coffee Pot

The Coffee Pot Restaurant is located at 205 2nd St NW and their hours are 5:00- 1:30 Monday through Saturday, and 6:00- 1:30 on Sunday. Their specialty is breakfast and lunchtime sandwiches. They serve a variety of breakfast dishes, omelets, and burgers. My personal favorite menu item is the Grill Burger, which is a Patty Melt on Rye. Awesome food and service, and affordable prices.

Fa Ray’s Family Restaurant

I hate to sound biased, but Fa Ray’s might be my personal Barberton favorite! They are located at 1115 Wooster Road North, and their hours are 6:30- 8:00 Monday through Saturday, and 8:00- 8:00 on Sunday. Fa Ray’s offers a little of everything! They have breakfast, sandwiches, chicken, pasta, steak, ice cream, and more! My favorite menu item is the Barberton Chicken Panini. This includes Barberton style chicken, cole slaw, french fries, and hot rice pressed into a panini. The food is awesome, the service is fantastic, and the prices are fair! UPDATE: Fa Ray’s has remodeled the inside of their restaurant, and it is fantastic! Definitely stop in and give them a try!

M and M’s Taphouse

M and M’s Taphouse has a nice sized food menu and is a great place to take the family for lunch at! They are located at 523 W Tuscarawas Ave. Their hours vary from day to day. Their menu includes salads, pizza, sliders, wings, and a variety of “shareable” appetizers. My favorite menu item is the Italian Sliders. They include ham, salami, pepperoni, cheese, and homemade pesto aioli! The food is great and so is the service. The prices are good too!

These are just five of the many restaurants I love to go to in our city of Barberton. I plan to write more articles in the coming weeks about more Barberton restaurants. We all have our “go-to” places, but please consider giving these places a try! You won’t be disappointed!
