Do You Miss Sports ?
The closing down of the NBA and Major League Baseball has not impacted this sports nut!
At first, what will I watch on TV at night?! One can only take so much of the news and the repetitious virus briefings! Based on my experience, sports are in trouble. I found out that I can live without sports talk radio and Televised games!TV games!
The definition of a ” sports nut” is when another voice in the home repeats,” is that all you watch?””! My life has expanded and I broke down and purchased Netflix! ( A survival homebound app)!!) Two years ago I dropped the service since I never watched it. I learned about the Fox Sports app and I could watch sports while others watched TV. They were happy since I was in the room with them.
Netflix is enjoyable! So far, it has been true stories that we have viewed. Ted Bundy was worth the watch, Aaron Herendez was a favorite, (appeals to a sports nut), botched plastic surgery was good but gruesome, and Tiger King is great since the characters are reality TV on steroids! Never make fun of Barberton, Kenmore, or West Virginians after watching Tiger King!
Walks are now a must, as well as and other forms of exercise to release the shut in blues! So far, being at home is not a problem with the internet, social media and great books! By the way, I am trying to read and finish ” Atlas Shrugged”, but still have time for a few Louis L’Amour westerns. How can we complain when we can order any book you want on your Kindle?. We have access to 98 % of the world’s knowledge through the internet! You can even watch YouTube videos showing you how to do Yoga, cook salmon, and how to fight the virus. I even found a super prayer app called Hallow!
The way to look at this lockdown, is it’s not really much of a lockdown, rather, God has called a Timeout for you! PAX VOBISCUM! ( Ms Book, our BHS Latin teacher, would like that close)!
