Staff Changes Continue at Barberton City Hall

It has been confirmed that Joe Stefan, Director of Planning & Community Development, is no longer employed by the City of Barberton. No reason has been given, as to why he vacated the post. The position of Barberton Director of the Planning Department is an appointed position, done by the Planning Department, itself. It is unclear at this point, what the application process will be, and who will stand as Interim Director during the hiring process.

This staffing change follows the stepping down of Mike Vinay, who resigned in late December, as Director of Public Service for the City of Barberton, to become Assistant Director of Sanitary Sewer Services, with Summit County.

[Corrected from an earlier post, erroneously stating that the Mayor appoints the Director of Planning & Development.]
