Barberton Magics Basketball Weekend: A Special Place in their Hearts for Emma.

By David Grisby Sports Reporter

The Barberton Magics Basketball team has a special place in their hearts for Dear Emma. At the Norton Basketball game Friday Night, the Cheerleaders wore “Roar with Emma” shirts in recognition of Norton cheerleader Emma.

Barberton competed on the court, winning the game but that is second to standing strong with 44203 as we are all one together. The Basketball team wore shirts before the game in solidarity to 44203 and Pray for Emma.

Saturday Basketball Game vs Canton Central Catholic. 66-62

Saturday Barberton game was moved to 3 pm to avoid a conflict with the Ohio State Playoff Game. The Barberton Magics responded with there 2nd straight win in as many days beating Canton Central Catholic 66-62 at Greynolds Gymnasium. The Magics were lead by Sr. #13 Sonny Fox -player of the game- with 11 and Jr. #3 Jarmair Blackmon with 19 and #21 Anthony Cook with 14. Sr #4 Bradley Eagle contributed with 8. The Magic fans are happy with the balanced scoring attack as the Magics get back to team basketball and passing to the open player. It is good to see players stepping up.

Next game is Saturday vs Kenmore-Garfield at Kenmore.

But the Pep Band was missing at both games. They add to the festive atmosphere expected at all Barberton Magic Games. A home football game without the Band is just not conceivable. And the Barberton Pep Band at home games is a tradition dating back to …. well forever. Where were they?

See the Barberton Herald on Facebook for the Central Catholic Game Video with Tyler Eberhart as host. He does a good job. Thank You to the Barberton Herald, Booster Club, and Tyler.

It was a good weekend for Barberton Magic Basketball: ” Roaring with Emma ” on Friday and returning in less than 24 hours to beat a good Canton Central Catholic Team. The Magic Nation offers Our Prayers and Hearts for Emma. Love from 44203 to 44203. The Magic Nation is one.
